Bespoke Kitchen - Private Client, Knutsford, Cheshire.
We were approached by a couple living in Knutsford, who were renovating their home with a large double story extension. They wanted a completely new and bespoke kitchen that would incorporate elements of their antique furniture and have a Dutch influence in its design, as one of them is from Holland. We carried out a site survey to get accurate measurements and then liaised with the contractors to organise the services for the kitchen.
The next stage involved creating some initial designs and making some full-size samples. The design was based on a shaker kitchen, but with more detail like the solid oak beading detail running up each column and the cornice which was replicated from an antique sideboard the clients owned.
Once the clients were happy with the overall design, we booked a production slot and started work on the technical drawings for the manufacture.
The design was extremely detailed and complicated, with the hand manufacturing and building stage taking over 6 weeks to complete, including all drawers with dovetail joints and all the front frames made of solid wood. We also made some additional details like the chopping board and the letter carved serving trays.
A factory spayed on lacquer finish was then applied to all the cabinets, in the colour that the client chose.
Our fitting team then installed the kitchen over a couple of weeks. The down lights were fitted as an extra and the table in the middle of the kitchen was made taller and restored to its former glory.
The kitchen is very in keeping with the overall interior design and style of the house and the clients were delighted. They went on to order a coffee table, a built-in TV cabinet, and a built in bookcase wall unit.
